Was going to post this at the time it occurred - but various hard drive issues prevented me from doing so. Surprised

Anyway, here's a clip from the day of the power cut when the regional news (recorded from Central East) failed to appear for quite a bit at 7:10 - leaving the breakdown bed (or coming up bed as it's more commonly used) to play for a while...

It is too repetitive. I think they should do a 1993 remix.

Yeah, I think they should too. Hearing that on loop constantly for three minutes just gets boring after a while.

I know there is another version of the GMTV Today music. [The one used before the rebrand] that was remixed into the screech package.

I quite like the New Breakdown music, I still think they should have used a new remix instead of the headline bed.

Aren't you all missing the point, it's not meant to be heard they could play a test tone continuously if they wanted. It doesn't matter that it is repetitive, it's just there so if the opt fails there's something at least.

Exactly! I like it, prefer it to what they used to use. Am I right in noticing a triangle being used in it?

I can hear it, doing the F#,G#,A# and B notes for the GMTV Signature tune.

Been fiddling around on Garageband and iMovie today. Made a mock of the GMTV breakdown. It's being uploaded to YouTube as I speak. I'll post a link soon

If you're going to pretend to be musical, then it's actually a B natural, C natural and a D natural, then a G; the motif is being played by a glockenspiel and reeds - think it might be flute and clarinet or oboe.

There's no triangle in there.
