Sorry to cross channel but I wasn't that impressed with the Escala set. You set it would be good lol!!
The bakground doesn't seem to be as well lit as it was a few weeks ago. its also back to the plain bland image seen in January. The whole thing although it great, is dating very quickly. Are there any more plans for the program Cross Chanel?? Confused Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

That's fair enough bpmikey - a lot of work went in to get that into the GMTV studio and it stands out for me anyway as a good looking performance on the programme, obviously it can't compete with the likes of The X-Factor studio or Eurovision for that matter. Hope you enjoyed it either way.

The lighting has changed for the main set background since the clocks changed a few weeks back, there are plans to invest in better lighting for the area where the news is presented from but don't know when that will happen.

The next big change on screen I would imagine will be when the new vizrt graphics are installed, should be some cool things happening around that time I would imagine.

I enjoyed the performance, and I thought that the lighting used made a lot of difference for that area of the set, especially when there's only usually a few spotlights in the background. Though everything's an improvement compared to years ago, the look at Boyzone performances last week showed this well, where they aired a montage of them performing in that area years ago when the bare studio wall was visible on every performance

So, from what we know about the clock now, this video went through the clock machine at 5:47am or 3:47pm for some reason.

My theory.. The clean version of the video didn't have the black bars that the broadcast version had so someone put black bars on it. Putting the black bars on the picture also caused the clock to appear just like the 'coming next' graphics did on the day of the power problems last week. Just a theory.

EDIT: : Now that I have watched the video to the end, I realise that the clock never changes. My theory has now changed. I believe that whoever made the black bars left a gap in the bottom one for the clock. As it would never be seen on air, they just used a template image which happened to say 5:47 on it. The webmaster then couldn't be bothered to correct this before putting the video online.

I loved it. I think it looked sleek and classy, really says a lot about GMTV and the way that it is really getting a good reputation back. If it makes such an effort it sends out a good message to other potential guests. Well done GMTV!!!

Since Lorraine only records her shows during the School weekdays, With July and August to fill are they any plans to replace her show in the holidays or will the normal GMTV run through til 9.25, also does andybody know when Lorraines last show is before the summer?

I think Tim Vincent and Jenni Falconer should take over the Summer shows when lorraine takes a break. Their chemistry is clearly visable during the competition promos.

Come on, are the weather graphics really that bad, they are great compared to ITV evening news's graphics. They are really awful. Smile And in a wierd way, the GMTV graphics suit the weather presenters (claire and kirsty)

I hope Richard Arnold doesn't tak over in the summer!!!

Another thing, the news sting music was better in January, before the new music. It was still the same notes but the current one is a bit wimpy compared with the strong newsy feel of the other one. Any thoughts??

Was going to post this at the time it occurred - but various hard drive issues prevented me from doing so. Surprised

Anyway, here's a clip from the day of the power cut when the regional news (recorded from Central East) failed to appear for quite a bit at 7:10 - leaving the breakdown bed (or coming up bed as it's more commonly used) to play for a while...

It is too repetitive. I think they should do a 1993 remix.
