ok thanks, looking through my sky + recordings, there was a probolem handing over from ITV to GMTV at 0600 leaving a blank screen for about 10 seconds but catching the last beam on the Ident for the opening, did anybody else catch this?

I saw that as well. The ITV ident froze for a few seconds while the announcer was still speaking, cut to a black screen, before catching the end of the titles (just the GMTV logo).
Sorry to cross channel but I wasn't that impressed with the Escala set. You set it would be good lol!!
The bakground doesn't seem to be as well lit as it was a few weeks ago. its also back to the plain bland image seen in January. The whole thing although it great, is dating very quickly. Are there any more plans for the program Cross Chanel??

That's fair enough bpmikey - a lot of work went in to get that into the GMTV studio and it stands out for me anyway as a good looking performance on the programme, obviously it can't compete with the likes of The X-Factor studio or Eurovision for that matter. Hope you enjoyed it either way.
The lighting has changed for the main set background since the clocks changed a few weeks back, there are plans to invest in better lighting for the area where the news is presented from but don't know when that will happen.
The next big change on screen I would imagine will be when the new vizrt graphics are installed, should be some cool things happening around that time I would imagine.

Nothing has been designed yet, its very, very early stages. Likely to see on screen September at a guess.
I find the lighting on the news set awful still. Wish they could get rid of the orange 'windowsill' they have behind Penny. doesn't work with the blue lights..
