I remember now that when I watched the time lapse wideo of the lsat studio revamp, the door didn't actually lead anywhere and now isnt eVen included in the new set. I say new, it feels like its always been there now!!

The only thing is that the grpahics seem to age quickly. Maybe it's the lightblue but i think now would be a good time to air the seasonal varition of the titles just to make the show a little bit more interesting.

Didn't that door just lead to a storage part of the set, I'm sure I've seen somewhere that the toonattik set is stored in there - I think I could have seen it on one of the GMTV uncuts where they did a piece about the door and it being as a cupboard for where they keep John Stappleton.

As for the graphics, I agree with you a bit, I think it is the blue, I love the yellows, red's & oranges, but I'm not a fan of the blue.
Wasn't there talk about a new graphics system that had to be installed to show the true animations of the graphics?

Erm... nope, it's still there actually! You can see it behind the cameraman.

Yep the door allows easy access to the fire lane and the fire door, as well as the back of the set and backdrop obviously. Various props are also stored in the corner and as you mentioned - the Toonatik set is stored there.

I never knew that Toonattik used GMTV's set during the weekend.

I'm guessing that they pre record it at some point in the week, though I could be wrong

Correct - its recorded on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

New graphics equipment (VIZ) on its way in the next few months I'm led to believe.

With the New Graphics Equipment arriving shortley then, will they change the GMTV openings to the seasonal ones, or just keep these titles until christmas time?

Titles/Openings won't be changing any time soon.

The new equipment will mean more fluid (or 'sexy') animation of straps, tickers and live bugs etc but the look will remain for the foreseeable future; especially as its only a few months old.

What happens to the GMTV on-screen clock at 11am? There doesn't seem to be enough room for it to display 11:00. Does the font get smaller to fit it in? Does the time run over the edge of the graphics? That would look rubbish but as it is very unlikely to be seen on air it probably doesn't matter.

Do we even know if it is a 12 hour clock or 24 hour clock? Maybe 11:00 would just about fit on the graphics, but what about 23:00?

Please someone (anoilyrag?) answer my questions so that I may sleep tonight.

Thanks.

When would GMTV need to use 11am in their clock (apart from extended news coverage of a major event (eg. 9/11) that occurred during GMTV presuming it would be too messy to leave GMTV for ITN

Would never happen. There is more chance of GMTV being taken off air for ITV News to come on if there was a need for it. However I think GMTV use ITN these days for their news anyway?

Why are you worrying about 11:00am? Wouldn't 10:00am be the time to worry?

I suppose a GMTV clock at this kind of time would have been more likely during the ITV F1 days when GMTV would make up its franchise time outwith the normal 06:00-09:25 slot. These days I suppose it is less likely. I don't think ITV would sit back and relax during a major news event and allow GMTV to carry on either!
