I'm new to the forum.

Following allwoodley's comments in the previous posts I also have some of the Regional footage I filmed on Monday where Calendar News I didn't think opted in back to GMTV.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y87ixvt8M1s

The Transitions sponsor plays and then it takes ages for Calendar to go back and Kerrie has to keep on smiling! Laughing

I saw that. They obviously started the recorded weather too early, so they were left with a gap at the end. Kerrie must do that long smile at the end of all the bulletins for occasions like this, it must be annoying for them.

Whos idea was it to present outside?

This tends to happen every year on GMTV when we get the first few days of warm sunshine. Back in the late 90's it was regularly outside in the early summer months until GMTV's Fun In The Sun roadshow took over in August coming live from Spain everyday (anyone remember that?).

You're getting confused there, they had Fun in the sun which meant most of the programme was coming from seaside towns around the UK for a week. In 1998 they decided to broadcast from a villa from Spain for the last hour of the programme and for an hour in the afternoons aswell, but this was only in 1998, it wasn't done again.

I did like this morning how they reiterated that it wasn't the Sunniest, warmest day in the rest of the UK, only in London. Laughing

No it was definitely fun in the sun where over the 6 week holidays they travelled around spain, they used to go around the UK for get & up give when that first launched.

Nope not getting confused, Fun In The Sun ran for a few years coming from Spain in August. Most of the program came from their, only the News remained in the studio as far as i can remeber. It was hosted mainly by Ross Kelly, Anthea Turner & Sally Mean in Spain although Amanda Redman? did it a few times. Mr. Motivator also used to do workouts from the beach.

Was flicking around this morning, GMTV Northern Ireland failed to opt at 0808 this morning.

The music used was the headline bed over an animating GMTV logo.. Harsh switch to usual GMTV sting to end the bulletins.

Sometime last year wile Ben and Fiona presented together, the then studio was having some work done on the lighting (i think, don't quote me!). They used a conservatory with the sofa that was used then and the top of the hour openings were filmed outside. I really liked the conservatory, it was great to wake up and see the programme in that format. Has the conservatory been used before last year??? I'm guessing not...!!! Anyone else like it?

PS I think the backdrop in the studio has darkened again!!

By the way, I don't think Kate looks that pregnant at the moment, just fuller!! It was amusing to see her this morning with a mouth full of toast!!

Yeah, would be nice to here the opt out music. I kind of think it is slightly differrent in each region. For example, a few forum pages ago a forumer recorded a few seconds of the opt out music before it corrected itself. This music , although similar to the current themetune, was different to the tiny bits of music heard in Wales. Then again, maybe through out each regional news output the music is playing and kicks in when the service fails. That could explain why the music starts on different bars of the arrangement when we hear it. Very Happy Confused
