Did anyone notice a change in the lighting on GMTV this morning. Seems a bit brighter and fresher, more 'springlike'? Im sure they have changed it!

I thought that this morning, the general colour tones of the picture seemed more vibrant too. Much better!

There was talk that the titles would change in line with the seasons. Do you reckon they are doing this with the lighting instead. It look brighter and more 'spring' like... or am I just going mad? lol Wink

Nope, you're right! Who knows about the titles... would be nice if they did change though.

Are you able to shed any further light on this anoilyrag? Wink

Yes. Anoilyrag did say that they would be changing the titles to tie in with the seasons. Perhaps he could clear that up for us.

Yes, alternate titles exist. Haven't a clue why they're not being used (or if a later date). Lighting tweaked, but not complete. News area is still not lit with the same 'kit' as the main set. Various issues behind this.

So, yet more changes for the lighting are anticipated. They really seem to have messed up with the lighting. It has undergone many changes since the relaunch earlier this year. Similarly with the news area, which they have redesigned many times.

I suppose on the plus side they are keeping things even more fresh than they were first anticipating with the relaunch Laughing lighting changes every other week. I can't wait for the new Spring titles Smile

GMTV looked to have a darker background again today as opposed to the more recent 'spring' like view. If you go onto the GMTV set designers website http://www.eyecatchingdesign.co.uk/ you can see pictures of the studio lit how they did it. This lighting could be seen on their website before we saw it onscreen. If you look into the corner of one picture, you can see the news area lit in a different way to how we see it onscreen. Is this how the news presentation area is meant to look? What are your thoughts?

Have you noticed the awful colour mat that the table sits on in front of the sofa? It is orange!! The previous red, fluffy one seen only a few weeks ago is miles better! Smile Anoilyrag, can you explain the change in carpet?

For those who can't be bothered to find it on the website its here

It does look good, and the news area looks so much different. How would they have managed to light it like that? Would it have been built wherever that company is based then transferred into The London Studios?

I also thought the following link for a channel set would be of interest to some, definitely shows where the inspiration for the GMTV set came from, and it even has the same back drop!! (albeit from a different angle)

I think you're right about the set being built then being transferred to the London Studios. Why did they bother to create a set then give it to GMTV half finished, for them to complete it themselves? You can tell the pictures are not recent as the screen in the news area is the wrong way round. I think the studio looks pretty awesome with the lighting on the designers website. U? Confused Smile

I think the pictures were taken from TLS because there is the screen above the set in the corner. I can't see them being that fussy about where the screen was if it was built outside of Studio5.

The news area lighting does look better. but in the pictures it looks a bit too dark if it was to go out on telly. so they had to put more lighting on the presenters face which lightened the background?
