GMTV (1993 - 2010)

We don't have one in the Meridian region, so I'd assume Tyne Tees/Border/Whatever is the only one.

Why is Nana Mouskouri doing the GMTV regional news?

Has anyone got the opening to Lorraine's show and the closng theme at all?

Have to admit i'm not keen on the new music. Sounds far to over exagerated to me. I much preferred the theme they scrapped just before the January relaunch. To me that sounded much more modern and flowing than this does but i will give it time, i may come around to it yet.

Are there three different variants then, News Hour, GMTV and GMTV with Lorraine ?

the "with Lorraine" version sounded more upbeat, a bit more like the original.

Like what I've heard so far, it's to be hoped they stick with it.

Not at the computer I recorded it on atm, will do when I am though.

Not quite sure what to think of it to be honest... nice to have a refresh though nonetheless.

This musical refresh was much needed - it all sounds very nice. I'm not too sure on the short "News" sting, it doesn't sound all that serious enough to my ears. I do think the main theme is great though (nice to see GMTV going against everyone else and using an orchestral theme - makes a good change, doesn't it!) I particularly like the "GMTV with Lorraine" title music, for some reason it puts me in mind of the original 1993 theme.

REALLY liking the new music - I think GMTV is excellent now since the refresh, I much prefer it over BBC Breakfast.

I'm not so sure what to think of the new music but then again I just hate strings anyway and I quite liked the old one. Maybe its just the big change and I might get used to it in time. I am glad that they kept the original one though and I think Lorraine's new music goes together with her titles much better.
