Don't know whether this has been mentioned, but the 'Whats on GMTV' part of the GMTV site is still showing NewsHour and GMTV Today as programme names

It'll be interesting to see what Ben and Emma will be like presenting together on Thursday. Usually Emma and Andrew are all over each other.

Don't Ben and Emma already present together every second Wednesday?

No - week one is Ben and Kate, week two is Andrew and Emma. All presenters now present half the programs each month.

Oh right. Thanks for clearing that up.

You're welcome Very Happy. I assume it's because Andrew originally (I'm told) presented the Monday - Wednesday programs with Fiona and, after a 'shakeup', was swapped with Ben (and the Daily Mail claimed he was angry about the move). Who knows, maybe strictly's helped him with this one too?

So what do the bosses make of the revamp? Are they happy?

Yes and no. Still many changes not brought in. News area is nowhere near what it is supposed to be. Response from viewers has been very positive. Ratings up almost 20 percent (call it new viewers, call it credit crunch viewers, whatever...)
End of March/April will see further changes.

What was the news area supposed to be like?

Anyway now all of the proper lighting is in I quite like the revamp. It looks much better, warmer and 'full'. Also Emma has settled in quite nicely, as had Kirsty.

So are there more graphic changes to come 'anoilyrag'? Initially you commented that there would be season themed titles is this still going to be implemented?

From what I've seen GMTV is averaging about 900k-1m each day....which is actually down year-on-year. The gap between GMTV and BBC Breakfast has also widened year-on-year. I would imagine GMTV only cares about how it rates with housewives (+ kids) which I think has risen slightly.

But the overall ratings picture shows figures are certainly not up "almost 20 per cent"- they're down.

GMTV should be pleased as many of their regional bulletins are now or will presented by high status regional presenters.

Figures I've seen for this year have GMTV at 1m (roughly 25%) and BBC on 1.2m (roughly 30%). What were the approximate figures for this time last year?

I suppose it would be interesting to see the daily reach for both BBC and GMTV given that its only supposed to be background noise whilst you get ready. I'd expect GMTV's to be much lower given its target audience ...
