It all sounds good to me. As long as News continues in the slot as well as the other features I can't see a problem.

I must say I like the new-look and expecially Emma Crosby, well done GMTV.

It's stuff like that and the way ITV is now that makes you feel that 1992 wasn't really worth it at all.

The chances are it would just stay as GMTV, especially as its already 75% owned by ITV and is good enough in the mornings. If that happens then maybe they should give Disney full control at weekends with full profits (as they can do kids TV better than ITV can) with ITV gaining control on weekdays.

If the franchise was abolished, would Disney have to be compensated for their lost share?

One assumes they would have to be honered the remainder of their contract or compensated for the loss.

Probably which is why it could be worth Disney taking over at weekends and gaining full profit whilst ITV taking over weekdays and gaining full profit. I doubt weekends mornings are that profitable to ITV anyway but given the Disney Channel's figures I think they could benefit from the weekend slot.

it's the end for GMTV as a company. And once ITV get control of the programme they'll clear out the managers who've clung on in there for 16 years. This should have happened years ago

All that will happen, is that GMTV will become a programme shown by ITV 1 in the mornings, and at the Weekends, a Disney branded programme will run.

At which point the name would probably be subtley amended to "GM ITV" - i.e. "Good Morning ITV" - if you notice, the new logo already looks like the right-hand edge of the M is forming an 'I' next to 'TV', and all they'd have to do is double-edge that line and you'd get... bingo - "GMITV".

The same breed of cleverness at play as in the 1993 HTV logo, whereby you could mask out part of it so it would look like "ITV" instead.

I doubt they'd bother doing that. I'd hazard an educated guess that most viewers already see GMTV as a programme on ITV1 and don't realise it's a different franchise.

We don't have CoronatITVon Street or X FacITVor, so I don't see why we'd get GMITV.
