GMTV (1993 - 2010)

So you want them to use the exact same piece of music at the start of GMTV, at the end, at the start of every hour, in and out of the regional news and in and out of every break and for Lorraine's programme?

The only one which doesn't fit in my opinion is the Lorraine music. It should use a jazzed up version of the music used for the former GMTV Today part.

I love it all, a very good, fresh and warm relaunch. The only bit I dont like is the graphics used on the plasma for the news, the teal colour used for the headline is yuk. Emma is perfect for the role, just needs a bit of time to gel with Andrew.

I have to say that, since the set's been re-lit to, it's grown on me a great deal. The more yellowy lighting gives it an instant lift - far warmer, and much less of a 'plywood' feel than before.

I'm still not entirely convinced by the news set, though - I actually really liked the old CSO background.

It's a temporary fix. The intended lighting set-up ( including lighting rig, plot, lamp kit and controllers) are not installed for another week. Why so long? Who knows?

Edit: Actually, a lot lies with convincing TLS to allow their system to be amended.

I just hope they do something with that ropey backdrop, they need to try and stop it looking so creased somehow.

They really must move on from that 9 year old mix of the theme tune, if they want to stay of old they should have gone the whole hog and gone back to the far superior 1993 original mix of it. The new titles just don't work with the GMTV Today music, there are whoosh sound effects that were added for the previous animation that just doesn't fit with the new oil painting titles.

As your regular everyday viewer. I love the new look and Emma has slotted in just fab. I just don't get the Blurry sun thingy. It just looks awful. It makes me think i ought to book an appointment at specsavers.

Yes, the fish was spotted before the new look was launched.

about the music...

- There's just one guy who decided to ditch the new music... 3 days before relaunch...
- The reason why is still unknown but there is some investigation going on... Could be bad taste, could be some other reasons (anoilyrag can answer this one, I think )
(my advice: I think it's better for his position to give the new music a try... )

I must say I tuned in briefly on Friday morning and things did seem to be much better - maybe they're taking people's comments on board?

I'm sure the whole thing will grow on me eventually.. Is it me or have they lowered the backdrop down a bit?
