Mr T
It's probably just for the first week isn't it just so they can get her used to the studio and see what it's going to be like.
Anoilyrag are there any developments with the music - will it be changing next week as media websites are still suggesting or is it staying as you said?
I think GMTV has had quite a good week to be honest and i think the relaunch has been a success. The only thing i would say is they should perhaps have started it earlier and been able to rehearse and also the music - they have had an awful long time to decide on what they wanted to achieve and that should not have been abandoned at the last minute. GMTV can never move on if it sticks with the past.

But what you are failing to understand, matty t, is that the past is what normal viewers want. As anoilyrag has said, why eschew what viewers are comfortable with and what they can identify with for something completely different that might alienate some viewers?

Can you honestly imagine GMTV's demographic feeling "alienated" by a different jingle?

They see a red sofa, Ben, a blonde bit of skirt and Richard Arnold - and they're getting exactly what they expect.

To a lot of mums, like mine, who put GMTV on in the background while getting the kids ready, I daresay they'd be put off by hearing a new age twinkle rather than the lovely horn motif.

Play it to her and let me know what she thinks.

There's no point in guessing when we could do some market research, is there?

I was having a look at Emma's profile on the GMTV website a little earlier, and I noticed it says Emma presents "Thursday's, Friday's and alternate Wednesday's"

That equally shares the presenter roles. So according to that, next week Kate & Ben must present Monday and Tuesday. Emma & Andrew should present Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

I thought she used a very patronising voice which I was keen on.

If the weather girls are doing alternating weeks then I think the presenters should as well. It would definitely make more sense to have Kate and Ben one week with Andrew and Emma the next if the presenters are to become equal.

No immediate plans to change, unless there is a significant reworking of it.

What annoys me is that that there is 3 versions of the old music going about. The 2006 music, then original in Lorraine and a different sting going into regional news, what a mess!

The regional sting (which is also used at the start of GMTV and again at the end) and the Lorraine titles are from the original set, hardly a mess! Loads of programmes use different stings which are all part of the same set e.g. the entire Big Brother franchise. The only theme which IMO doesn't fit in is the reworked top of the hour theme. But I wouldn't say its a mess.
