Just looking at the timelapse of the set cnstruction now. At the TOTH i would like to see the wide shot of the studio like the had after cutting from the VT to the studio. GMTV Time-lapse about 40 seconds. It would have to be a bit smoother and the camera not so far back, but enough to see what's happening from that angle, and then Fades in to the presenters centre camera "pedding" down and trucking forward.

Positives:
The whole newsy bit is very nice and seems much more formal and the presentation looks lovely. I also like the studio, unlike most people.... as Lorraine said... it's like the old one but better! I also love how the speech bubbles make the astons... ties in nicely with that lovely logo

Negatives:
The music! It just doesn't fit and it looks ridiculous.. and what the hell happened to Lorraines show... very poorly thrown together. The titles are OK I suppose... but not exactly inspiring...

Well it's quite a nice refresh to start the year i think. Logo looks great and has a very nice summer feeling to it with the titles (which i think a lot of viewers will appreciate). Set looks good, feels spacious yet cosy (a good balance to have) but i would agree with Noggin's comment that either the sofa needs putting on a rostrum or the window ledge needs to drop a bit. Love the bessel-less Plasma at the News area (got to get me one of them). Not to worried about the music as i quite like the current theme. I'm sure we will see tweaks over the coming days and weeks so perhaps a bit early for me to comment much further at the moment.

I was pretty impressed to be honest! The graphics are brilliant, really neat. I think they've done a really good job of keeping its GMTV-ness, anything too radical wouldn't have been a good idea.

Anyone else find it weird seeing Lorraine in the main studio?

Is there another studio somewhere they've been keeping a secret? Lorraine's segment has always come from the same studio.

I couldn't agree more, it felt more like the early days of GMTV, as Lorraine has had her own set for quite sometime now, so it's a bit of a throwback.

From what I've seen this morning, I was quite impressed, it just looks alot more neat and tidy whilst still being GMTV.

The set's not great (bar the nice desk), the presenters are too low against the background, and its spartaness level is now on par with Breakfast. That news sting is rubbish. Meh.

Anyone got a video of the 7am/8am opener?

OK I only saw my my normal GMTV section for my early starts (655 till around 740) and then did what most people do, went to work rather than nit pick over a programme's refit....... Confused

All in all, a pretty good relaunch, the ticker works well on serious news, but the death of an American Actors son wasn't the news I was expecting to see on a rolling basic. However, I can see that some people would find this interesting. The news headlines were good at 715 with Penny as it's the normal time I sit down with breakfast (2 fags and a cup of strong coffee). Laughing Laughing

Anyway the set looks ok (a grower) and I can't comment on Lorraine till I'm on middles at work, but not bad in my opinion.

Actually watching the end of GMTV with Lorraine on the clip above, when the camera pans back, it's a nice touch to see the sun on the table in the middle. OK a light, but a nice throw back none the less. Cue people moaning about how good TVAM was Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes (answer no it wasn't unless you count the strike days filmed in OZ with Anne Diamond)
