What about the show on 2nd January, will they be in a temporary studio while work is completed on the new set?

Actually, ignore that. The set has gone back in. Looks like the rip out was to install cabling, lighting rigs, sound junctions. Would have been impossible to achieve all over the w/end for the 5th.

Live show on Jan 2nd.

Hardly he has already said that he's getting this information from someone else he knows you can't expect it all to be 100% accurate. Why do people on this forum always have an attitude when someone has some inside information to share? Rolling Eyes

Completely agree, he's not an insider but clearly knows someone who is. Cut him some slack. He already told us what the logo would be like weeks before it was shown so why be so demanding?

Perhaps there was a last minute change of plan yesterday. The EPG was changed to show childrens' programmes today instead of Newshour/Today and it was presented from the performance area.

EDIT: Just realised today was always programmes for 'brats', tomorrow is the usual Newshour/Today listing. I thought today was Friday....I lose track of what day of the week it is over the holidays Confused

There was no GMTV ident, just a TLS Studio 5 testcard straight into the titles, although nothing to indicate that the presenter was live.

Just found this on The TV Newsroom:

Quote:
GMTV Relaunches Monday

This Monday, GMTV will be relaunching with a brand new set and on-air look, So what can we expect.

A full set of new graphics with brand new titles, wipes and stings, in particular a new news sting.

A New studio but a familiar feel to it with the red sofa and backdrop but a new red sofa and new London based backdrop.

The music will remain the same for the time being.

Programmes names have been dropped except for Lorraine Kelly. So it’ll be ‘GMTV’ between 6 & 8.30 and ‘GMTV With Lorraine’ from 8.30 - 9.25.

Lorraine will present from the main sofa area; thus the whole programme will come from the main red sofa.

GMTV News will have a new dedicated set, it won’t be chromakeyed anymore.

New weather graphics too.

Emma Crosby’s first show is Thursday, Kirsty McCabe’s first show will be a week Monday.

The current set is being removed after Friday morning’s programme.

New set and on-air look, this Monday 5th January 2009 at 6am.

So the music isn't changing then... how come? Wink

London based backdrop... are they staying in studio 5 or moving to the former London Tonight studio?

In view of anoilyrag's comment further up this page, there is nothing to suggest they are moving from Studio 5:

I'm not sure why they feel the need for a London background. Surely any non-specific cityscape would be better. GMTV doesn't normally make an issue of the fact that it's from London, so why enshrine that concept unnecessarily in the set design? Scratch Head

Emma Crosby on Sky News right now.

The colour bars shown today are from TLS Studio 5 gallery. I guess it was a automated error as normally on a Thursday pres would cut to this feed at 6am, but today pres played out CITV programmes themselves. No-one was in TLS 5.

You can always tell the CITV shows on ITV1 as the DOG is not keyed as nice as in in the CITV Channel pres suite.
