If they were to decamp, I could see it just being on the 2 January 2009. With studio revamps, if they are significant taking place from Friday-Sunday.

I wonder if John Stapleton will be the solo presenter of 6-7am, with Penny just reading the news headlines on the hour from 6-8.40am? In a previous press release they just mentioned John and Lorraine's slots being safe..

I really hope thats not the case. And if the revamp will take more than the Saturday and Sunday, then they could go back to that conservatory they were in earlier in the year, although it wouldn't work as well without the sun we had then. Either that, or there wouldn't be anything stopping them putting the sofa in the This Morning set ...

They possibly could even use CSO to re-create the current set if its just a few days, just means they would have to have locked camera positions (unless there is a spare 'theatre of news' studio available?)

I find it very strange how things seem to be very quiet on here regarding GM TVs impending revamp

Nothing has been released officially

Is there a reason it is all being kept hus hush ?

If the relaunch is planned for 5 January then they have the studio free from 9:25 on the Friday and all day Saturday to strike the current set, put the new one in place and then have some time for technical rehearsals on the Sunday.

They managed this for the last revamp; ISTR there was an interesting time-lapse video of the work being done over the weekend which was available on the gm.tv website afterwards. Any large parts of the new set could, presumably, be put together elsewhere and then fitted together in-situ.

Lorraine's part of the set is no longer being used from this week, so presumably that could already have been dismantled. I wouldn't see them needing to find a temporary home unless the alterations are more dramatic than we have been led to believe. Surely this is the ideal time of year to be doing this... as long as the staff don't mind the extra hours so soon after the holiday period.

You're probably quite right, it's like i said earlier it all just depends on how much work has to be done.

It could end up being simply touch up?

if there wanted a real view of london where would there have to go get it? I can;t see them moving to a new office some where on LWT tower?

What about the LNN Studio (If it is still there)

So this whole revamp thing could just simply be a touch up as described previously ?

would be a shame if this whole post was just a hoax

There is no LNN these days. ITN do London's news. Studio 7 gets used by some of ITV's sports programmes but I don't think it gets used for much else. Really surprising when you consider what a fantastic view it has.

There's no hoax. GMTV will definitely look different on Jan 5th.

Depends what you define a revamp though- the content of the programme doesn't sound like it's changing at all (sadly).

Well the last GM TV before Christmas & STILL no on screen announcement or mention at all of any revamp etc

If such big or even small things were going to happen it would of been mentioned by now OFFICIALLY either on screen, publicity campaign or through a press release ! ! !
