Guess the announcement will be made on January 2 before this much-anticipated new look is unveiled on January 5.
Michael, if you read anoilyrag's latest post, it answers much of what you have to say
The sofa may still be red, but is it actually a new sofa ? anoliyrag said NEW sofa still red
News in studio 5 as now, Lorraine Kelly set binned etc
I am going to guess same set for all three strands, maybe a different presentation angle for each or different backdrop.
A modern yet very GMTV set?? It sounds very good, I presume the work will either be done over Xmas, or in one weekend after the show goes off the air at 9.25am on Jan 2?

yes, but now only two 'strands' programmes, correct in earleir post from digiguide. GMTV, and GMTV with Lorraine.
Is that what they're calling it? GMTV with Lorraine?

Not many programmes/channels do advertise a revamp until it pretty much happens on screen. It has been referred to on GMTV by Fiona & Andrew a week or so ago commenting how the theme tune to GMTV is 15 years old but its all change in January. I would expect we may see some trailers from January 1st promoting GMTV on January 5th or certainly after the last GMTV in its current form has broadcast which is January 2nd for the studio based programme. May be interesting to watch between Christmas & New Year to see if they de-camp to a different studio to allow for work to commence in their usual home or whether this is done over the weekend of 3rd & 4th.

It's weird that they haven't announced anything yet if it is such a big revamp?

If they were to decamp, I could see it just being on the 2 January 2009. With studio revamps, if they are significant taking place from Friday-Sunday.
I wonder if John Stapleton will be the solo presenter of 6-7am, with Penny just reading the news headlines on the hour from 6-8.40am? In a previous press release they just mentioned John and Lorraine's slots being safe..

I guess it all depends on how much work has to be done to the studio to adapt it to the new set and how much rehersal time they have allowed for when the new set is up. They may have already constructed or partially constructed the new set in a tempory studio/area to allow for rehersal to allow construction to take place over the weekend.

I really hope thats not the case. And if the revamp will take more than the Saturday and Sunday, then they could go back to that conservatory they were in earlier in the year, although it wouldn't work as well without the sun we had then. Either that, or there wouldn't be anything stopping them putting the sofa in the This Morning set ...
