GMTV (1993 - 2010)

I thought Third Reich LIVE with Lorraine Kelly was a particularly bad move.

God yes. The "Himmler's Hairstyles" and "Belsen Beauty Parlour" segments stick in my mind.

The creatives among you might want to re-create the main logo colour scheme?

gradient across 10cm (dark on the left)

Probably done this wrong, but a dark orangey red, becoming light orange?

I just put those numbers into publisher and added a gradient to see what came up, and this is the result (assuming I've done it right and judging by the post above I have)

For the tweaking: Change the gradient balance to 2/3 dark, 1/3 light (so it's mostly orange)

Halve the height

Round off the left hand side

The right hand side funnels up to a sharp point, almost a reverse speech bubble. It's not a long point, mind.

Plonk GMTV in the middle, white font, capitals, rounded edges (almost Tahoma, but bespoke with letters touching)

If you look, it seems similar to the graphics of NBC Today, with everything going to a point:

It's not far off, I'm sorry I can't just post it - I'm not able to strip user data from the image. Colour wise - Breakfast is flat orange, this is definite gradient - but don't be fooled by the scheme, the captions and boxes are NOT orange, just the logo and DOG.

To tweak further - ROUND OFF the left hand side, so it's almost a half-circle bolted to the rectangle - if that makes sense?

For the right-hand side, the point FAR LESS prominent, it's almost a swoosh, a tick, with the point finishing at the top, rather than in the middle. It no where near sticks out as much as your version.

Imagine a reverse of image B, with a sharp point on the right (obviously, with your rounded bit on left):

Yes i second the thanks to anoilyrag we do appreciate it. So this is nearly what the new GMTV logo is going to be like. Its quite nice and im looking forward to seeing the animated version. Slight risk with the orange i think though they will get criticism for looking too much like Breakfast on BBC
