I realise that GMTV are trying to change their image but the they don't want to go too far. I personally like the banter between the newsreaders and anchors, it makes breakfast tv friendly and I just think they run the risk of doing too much. I know its not a massive thing but it works perfectly well as it is. I hope we will still recognise GMTV

I completely agree, it's great to see the friendly banter between the presenters, especially when Penny's involved

I third that. Where are they going to put the Newsdesk then? Surely they're not gonna rent a new studio just for that, unless they share with the London Morning bulletin (I'm not in the london region, and i dont know where the london bulletins come from either). But i am going to miss that.. i suppose.
There is only about just over a month until the relaunch (If they have it for when they come back after Christmas?)

GMTV's London regional bulletins come from the London Tonight studio at ITN.

I don't get to watch GMTV every day but I did this morning and when the end of the news came and Penny just signed off and looked down at her desk, it felt VERY flat and unfriendly. GMTV works so well because it isn't serious and it never has been. I hope they don't take it completely down the route of turning it into a news programme, it will make matters even worse IMO. The set up is fine how it is. The same set up with a new set/graphics and reviewed content would do fine as a relaunch.
If Kate and Ben do the first show, does this mean Kate has in fact taken Fiona's job and Emma has taken Kate's?

I noticed the last couple of mornings, when the sofa presenters handed over to Penny, she hasn't said her usual "thanks very much" to them but just good morning to us and then straight into the news
