I'm looking forward to this, Emma and Kirsty are surprise choices, but very good choices. It's good that they've kept with a journalist rather than going for a 'face'. And a good thing that they've gone for a meteorologist (sp?), as I'm sure I remember that Andrea is just a presenter.

As for the look for the programme, I'm hoping that they do something very different, in a way it's a new era for the programme. It looks as though Kate and Emma get on, hopefully they do. It would be interesting if they ended up presenting together. Something I could see Kate & Emma doing than Ben & Andrew. Though I suppose 3 presenters could be a bit too much, especially if they stick with just using a sofa.

No, she is trained, and produces GMTV weather off screen too.

Some images of Kate & Emma looking all friendly and happy from a photoshoot earlier today.

I hope that sofa is no indication of what the new one will look like! It is horrid.

I doubt it - that photoshoot clearly took place in a pub!

Andrea is only a weather presenter; Clare is a meteorologist and is responsible for the entire weather output on GMTV. I have no idea what they do when she is on holiday, but I know she is in every day whether she is on screen or not.

I wonder if that will change so that each takes responsibility for that week when Kirsty arrives. I remember when there were some weather problems in the UK, and it was Andrea's week in, and they had some guy talking about it, so maybe they have a back up from the met office, or something similar.

Maybe they could have three presenters on the sofa. Fox and Friends do it in the US on the Fox News Channel, discussing the day's news with a bit of humour in it.

Usually the three are assigned different parts of the programme to do ie sport, weather, entertainment etc.

It would make GMTV look very different, as both BBC and ITV have had a 2 presenter format since breakfast tv started in 1983.

Sky has just one presenter with a newsreader alongside.

Just curiosly (sorry if this has already been brought up), but did they do anything for their 15th Birthday in Jan this year?

They did a celebration of 25 Years of Breakfast TV sometime in January, so they mentioned TV-am and a had a few guests on LK Today such as Roland Rat, Timmy Mallett and Ann Diamond, other than that very little was done.

Thanks, forgot they even did that! I would have thought they would have done a whole year thing, and incorporate it throughout each month.

Sorry, can't seem to reply on PM. In answer to your question though, VERY SOON - before the end of the year.
