As GMTV has a seperate licence to broadcast on Channel 3 from 6am-9.25am every day meaning they would be loosing out financially. Anytime ITV has gone into GMTV's space, i.e. with the Formula 1, they have to ensure GMTV gets airtime in ITV's space normally filled with kids programmes.
