Not nowadays. It's a tit for tat deal. GMTV gets advert slots in ITV1 after the 6.30pm news, and at weekends too. So makes sense not to pay each other anything.


I'm sure there would have been something similar set in the days of TV-am, I remember their promos being shown on ITV.

Its not a first though. When The Big Breakfast and GMTV were both broadcasting live from The Cannes Film Festival one year, Richard Bacon (I think) arranged for a streaker to run in to the GMTV shot. The GMTV clip turns up on outtake shows quite regularly, it would be nice if they could show The Big Breakfast clip as well to give it a bit of context.

GMTV was very newsy this morning, it also seems that they did the right thing and gave Fiona the day off. Kate and Andrew with John in Washington dealt with the Election in a professional manner

Probably not a first, but even my fellow CEO's saw it.

Some claimed it was Fiona's replacement. Some claimed it was Fiona on the screen this morning...........

Glad GMTV's improved the video section/player, the old one was looking a bit outdated.

While they're at it, why not modify their presenters.
Get rid of Andrew Castle, Richard Arnold and Fiona Phillips. Make Lorraine Kelly one of the regular GMTV Today presenters and, if she says no, give her the chop. Make Kate Garraway News-Only Newscaster.
Move John Stapleton to 'GMTV Today' and present it with Penny Smith/Lorraine Kelly.
And get rid of these lifestyle shows LK Today and The Richard Arnold Is A Twerp Show.

Why doesn't GMTV start at 6 and end at 9? In that case, ITV can start their daytime programming [before the BBC] and look like this:
9:00am ITN/ITV News Headlines.
9:05am Rosemary Shrager's School For Cooks or something similar.
9:55am Regional News Headlines.
10:00am This Morning.
12:00pm Loose Women.
1:00pm News At One.
How about that, anyone?
