Are you living in some 1980's time warp?

Why not re-employ Frank Bough? Rolling Eyes

While GMTV may not be 3 and a half hours of breaking news, it has to always in a position of being so. It owns it's own airtime, so from 6 to 9.30, it is the sole broadcaster on ITV1 - no throwing over to ITN and hoping for the best.
Hence, the presenters have to be able to talk about Corrie and X-factor - water-cooler stories, and know why the large hadron collider is broken, as well be able to talk to witnesses about the explosion in Pakistan. Kate Silverton may tick some of the boxes, but she would fall down flat in others. Not to mention she has the personality of shoebox and the front-line experience of a Cardiff graduate.

Though people forget Kate was a regular on The Wright Stuff before she moved full-time to BBC News - so she has more of a light current-affairs/water cooler background than may be apparent at first.

She's also presented and reported from places like Basra for the BBC...

You're taking the mick with the third pairing surely?

Those two surely will never work together on air again.

Only a channel after an on air fight would employ those two on screen at the same time.

Myleene KIass... Never approached, never spoken too, never offered the job, never turned it down...
So in summary, it's fair to say the reports that Myleene turned down the chance to present on GMTV are utter bollocks, made up by her agent Jonathan Shalit - who also represents Kate Silverton, Konnie Huq, Nina Myskow... you get the idea.

The words came out of her mouth in interview not her agents. Rolling Eyes I'm tempted to believe her over you who has been talking "utter ****" for years. Seriously, I don't know why so many people hang on your every word. Rolling Eyes

(From the Mirror: ....The TV beauty, 30, has said: “Conversations were had, but I’m not doing it. I can’t do late nights or early mornings any more.”...)

Conversations were had between her and her agent perhaps.

Anoilyrag- GMTV management really has lost it if they think Myleene would work on the sofa.

Whether they wanted her or not, why are the managers not coming out to back Kate G and confirm the inevitable and say she'll become main presenter?

Why are they trying their hardest to p*ss her off? If she goes there's very little left (apart from Stapleton).

Unless you know what negotiations are taking place it is very difficult to tell.

The last thing a broadcaster would do when they are negotiating with talent is to confirm that someone has been appointed before a deal has been signed.

That said - I know of Jonathan Shalit's management style - and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he had something to do with that story being circulated... Remember, the stories about Myleene not being able to wait until she got back to The One Show, and how she was so looking forward to getting back on the sofa with Adrian?

How on earth is Myleene Klass even in the running according to the newspapers she is sooo wooden.

Not sure. On one hand you would expect a little radio silence while the re-launch is worked out, but there is a sense that she's not flavour of the month.
