It's rumoured that from later today (Monday 11th February), the weather department at YTV in Leeds will take over doing all weather forecasts for most, if not all, of the GMG regions.

There'll be matching maps too, rather like Carlton Central, Westcountry and HTV.

Keep yer eyes peeled for Debbie, John and Jo outside of their current homeland...

Quite odd considering Meridian have just got new weather graphics!! Be nice though - I prefer YTV's graphics.

Makes some sense actually - as Anglia announced they were moving their main forecast from 6pm to 6.25pm from Monday, so obviously something is happening there - but I'd be very surprised if we actually saw the graphics change.

Having said that Anglia's and Meridian's weather graphics aren't the most inspiring but they are a lot more polished than the shoddy ones on Central, Westcountry and HTV at the moment - they could do with a good change!

Although, YTV weather graphics are rather nice - strange colours but it actually works amazingly well.

Daytime forecasts are being prepared in Leeds but overnight its still looked after at the Met Office in London (ie for weekends and GMTV).

The YTV Weather has all new graphics, weather charts, symbols etc.

One downside, place names are now included of the major towns, before they used to have two humorous places listed (Such as Lindley and Blythe or Askham Richard and Whiteley etc!)

I've seen the symbols somewhere else, but I'm not sure where!

The actual title sequence is intact

And here are the Yorkshire graphics.  Nice simple, plain graphics, nothing too fancy.  Work rather well I thought.

Yep, just the same here on Granada, except with Debbie doing ours. Nice to see that Granada, Yorkshire and Tyne Tees all had different presenters and they didn't just get the Yorkshire presenter to do Granada's, I wonder if they were live? Also, anyone know what happened on Anglia, Meridian, and, more interestingly, Border?

Meridian have been using those graphics for a couple of weeks (or from today in the Newbury area). Shame really. The other ones are IMO so much better. Sad

Cheers, Asa
