Well we had Jon Mitchell presenting today, but today also saw the return of the Granada Pollen Count, being on everyday from now until the beginning of August according to Mr Mitchell, being V/Oed and a different (and what I take is) National sponsor.

Yeh it's all too much that really, you get weather sting, sponsor, weather, closing weather sting, then a pollen sting, sponsor, pollen, sponsor, closing pollen sting. Rather messy.

It was messy on Granada Reports, as they went straight from the Weather Sponsor sting to the Pollen Report and after that we only had the audio to the Weather sting play.

Have all the regions got the same News Channel-style bumper for the end of the pollen count?

I don't think we did, we had the same graphics as the GMG Weather.

In London we had Granada-style graphics for the pollen count, which of course didn't match the national-style weather graphics. Though the London pollen count was voiced over by Robin Lermitte.

Are Leeds or Birmingham producing the pollen graphics for all regions then?

Yes we had that on Yorkshire, I wonder if this means there will be a national Pollen Count on the ITV News Channel. I suppose now the Snow Report has ended there is a space for it...

The only way I could see it being a bit less messy is if the post-weather sponsor sting was dropped on the 6.28pm forecast. Then it could go Weather Sting - Weather Sponsor - weather - pollen sting - Pollen Count - Pollen Sponsor - Weather Sting

The Yorkshire Weather and Pollen Count was with Kerrie Gosney today by the way

It's a bit odd really as it doesn't match any of the regional news pres at all

The spinning globe and clockface are from the national news titles and graphics

I notice the Pollen Count is being done in-vision now. On Yorkshire I'm sure Kerrie did it out of vision on Monday but Jon on Tuesday and Jo today both did it in-vision, which is different from what happened last year

Yup I noticed that, it was Out of Vision with Jon on Monday, but Kerrie has been In Vision yesterday and today. And currently on Granada Reports there's no Pollen Count sting! But the wonderful sequence is still nice and complicated, but they actually mentioned they had the Pollen Count tonight, anyway it goes like...

- Weather sting
- United Utilities sting
- Weather bulletin
- United Utilities sting
- Pollen sponsor
- Pollen bulletin
- Weather sting

Kinda confusing?

London is now using the silent ITVNC Weather sting.

For Central News (West, at least), apart from the obvious difference (i.e. BMI Baby sponsorship, rather than United Utilities), there's also another - pointless - difference...

- Weather sting
- Weather sponsor sting
- Weather bulletin
- Weather sponsor sting
- Pollen sponsor
- Pollen bulletin
- Pollen sting

By the way, the Pollen sponsor is Benadryl in my part of the world - is that the same across ITVplc land?

Since this thread started commenting that some regions seem to see more of one presenter than another we've had all of them on YTV this week...

Monday: Kerrie
Tuesday: Jon
Wednesday: Jo
Thursday: Debbie
Friday: Jo
