Kerrie Gosney was doing the Yorkshire Weather sponsored by Carcraft tonight, has she done something with her hair?

Also, have you noticed that Jo Blythe never wears the same top twice, or at least it seems that way!

Who did you guys on Granada get today?

We had Jon Mitchell on Thursday, but you're right about Jo, I have never seen the same top twice.

I caught the bulletin at 6.25pm and Good God, what has she done to it? Her hair has gone WORSE, it looks like a poor Eminem style of hair-do.

I almost had a fit when I saw Kerrie on Granada Weather on Friday. Her hair has seriously got really bad. I did like it when she had a little bit of light hair at the front but the bleach blond!......That’s going TOO far.

Kerrie needs to change salon. If she goes back to the same place again god knows what they will do to her? She'll probably have a skinhead!

I agree Kerry is not looking as good as she can. Jo is doing more presenting particularly on Granada which may explain why she is not on weather..
I am puzzled as to why we get Carcraft on YTV yet Granada still have United Utilities? I thought Carcraft were across both regions???
I am told next year will be the new weather across ITV when the contract runs out but "weather" (sorry) that will still include the northern guys or not remains to be seen. As for the graphics , Iam told that the graphics dept closed last year when they got rid of the regional trailer people as they were something to do with them. Some guy called Robin did it with teh guys from the met office in London so I assume we will have a different look no matter who gets the contract as there is no-one left here in Yorkshire to control the creative, unless Tracy Crawford is still on the scene , but have not heard her mentioned for a while?

Well it does depend Region to Region really, but UU has been sponsoring Granada Weather (And I still think Border Weather) since 2001 now, I take it they have some exclusive contract or something, though it's probably the longest sponsorship they've had since Legal and General, as they had millions of sponsors in 2000 and 2001. Carcraft is in many regions, the North West and Wales too, but I guess it varies region to region.

I think if they got rid of Bob Johnson from GMG Weather there would be an outrage. Thats why he's the only real regional weather presenter left.

Of course he does presenting too, but I doubt that would make up for him leaving the map behind. 16 years on and Bob is still going strong at Tyne Tees. Good on him.

I remember when Bob used to do the weather for Border's Lookaround, as well as on Tyne Tees. Does he still appear in Border-land at all?

I assume his sequences on Border were filmed in Newcastle. He already had quite a long drive to the Tyne Tees studios from where he lived, so I doubt he would want to trek to Carlisle on a daily basis too.

I'm not sure about Border Region, but I remember when there was the two Tyne Tees regional news programmes that in Teesside they had a pre-recorded weather within the show with Bob rather than use the Yorkshire weather presenters, while he did the Tyneside show in-studio live.

No Bob - just Jon, Kerry, Jo and Debbie. When did Bob do Border weather?, before the Yorkshire team started in 2001 it was just a weather map with a voiceover from Gillian Fraser, a Border journalist.

Ah yes, Gilly Fraser. A little-known fact is that she also writes novels, under the psuedonym of Rachel Elliott. (I didn't know Border's wages were THAT bad!!! Razz )

Bob only did the Border weather for a week, in the summer of 2002 (5th-9th August if my memory is correct).

A common complaint in the Border region is that the entire eastern part of the area is obscured under graphics on the weather map, giving the impression that the Border TV area stops at Jedburgh and Hawick. Have a look at it the next time it's on and you'll see what I mean.

I'm sure United Utilities were sponsoring Border's weather long before 2001, I can remember them sponsoring it as long ago as 1996 if my memory is correct. Very Happy

I saw Bob doing the weather on Lookaround (within the show) back in February 1996, when snowstorms hit the region and a state of emergency was declared. It was an OB (possibly from the Berwick region), so it may have been a one-off special due to the circumstances.

Probably, Border aren't keen on doing OB's! Rolling Eyes

Well we had Jon Mitchell presenting today, but today also saw the return of the Granada Pollen Count, being on everyday from now until the beginning of August according to Mr Mitchell, being V/Oed and a different (and what I take is) National sponsor.
