GMB Today

When when the focus group it, they'll now have two clear formats to offset against each other. Lorraine with Christine Lampard or GMB Today. Much cleaner than asking people if they liked 'that extra bit of GMB we did in August, but only the bit after 8:30'

Personally, I've never really been a fan of Lorraine (as a show) and it's nice to see itv try something new with GMB Today. I liked the idea of it and I think that today it was executed pretty well from a presentation point of view. It was nice to see there was a little bit of a difference to the graphics and set for the programme, though my main criticism would be the lack of any proper title music. To be fair it's only for two weeks and I like the effort that they've put into it but taking this into account I would have thought they might have tweaked the main GMB theme a little for the programme rather than simply use music from the charts. Only a minor criticism though and it will be interesting to see if it makes a return in the future after it's original 2 week run.

Oh dear! The test card would have been better.

According to the Daily Express viewers have SLAMMED the new show (after Lorraine was AXED no doubt!)

Today opened with the Buzz theme today...meh, chart music was better.

Having watched today's episode, it's watchable but rather bland in my view. The 'format' now looks confused with the addition of the debate around homework. It doesn't even feel like a format to be honest, just lots of little segments from GMB chucked together. In fact, I think they've simply moved the guests booked in for GMB a bit later. Most viewers wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between the two. They've made half an effort to make things look different, but haven't gone far enough.

I also agree with the view that partnership between Jeremy and Kate is not what it seems. Kate is regularly cut off by Jeremy, and the chemistry is just plain awkward. Three weeks of him is just too much in my opinion.

At least Jezza hasn't told Kate to 'get out of his building' yet!

They stayed in the same interview corner for the whole show, which made the presentation slightly boring. I reckon it would look better if they used the sofa area re-lit pink for the entertainment look and change the backdrops to the one seen in the GMB Today Title card.

Good grief. It's a 2 week filler. Lower your expectations.

This is the norm when it comes to ITV breakfast.

Why bother creating a new show if it's just filler?
