It made me wonder as the year of new idents will end at the end of December and it is perfect timing for an overhaul.

It’s off now for Cash Trapped. Looks like Tennable is off for a new 3pm quiz in 2 weeks according to ITV Press Office.
An odd time of year to be messing with the regular schedule.

Well Piers kept banging on about his contract ending on December the 31st. So he must have signed on the dotted line.

I wouldn't be surprised if Piers only does 7-9am, with a GMB Newshour type show at 6am with Susanna and/or Charlotte? Would allow for proper entertainment, weather and sport updates too.

The Viewback survey in the Summer when the plans were first known about did mention a News ‘Half Hour’ With Charlotte til 6.30.
That gives Piers a 30 min lie in.

It technically would be if they don't relaunch on New Year's Day. Not that I'm expecting a relaunch.

If NBC decided to do their breakfast show in the middle of a battlefield do you think ITV should follow suit?
An ad-free breakfast programme is one of those "would be nice" things, but realistically its not going to happen. Its the adverts that fund the programme after all. There may be a PSB element on the occasions where they go into rolling news mode and to hell with the adverts, but that's very much the exception.
