Yes it's normal for the owner of an advertising space like a billboard to have their name on it for that reason.

Global bought an outdoor advertising company a couple of years ago and now have lots of outdoor ad spaces : https://outdoor.global.com/uk/our-products/road/billboard-advertising/locations

Before Global took over the advertising company that provides ad slots on London's buses, the previous company was never promoted on the sides of the buses under the the ad, now there's a prominent sized logo on every bus in the capital now.

Global are a company who want the masses to see it as a wide ranging media company in the same way the BBC has similar brand recognition.

Joking aside, whether or not we like everything Global has done, the diversity of their programming and brands has got to be commended. Arguably it gives the listener more choice than they would have if their portfolio was split between two or three companies.

I guess a benefit of that is that the smaller brands can get access to guests who wouldn't otherwise be up for going on a show with a relatively small audience. So a guest might be in primarily for an interview on Capital could be persuaded to do Radio X as well while they are there.

Interesting to see Amanda Holden interviewed live on BBC Breakfast this morning from a studio at Global. Obviously a studio in Heart branding but with a logo free mic muff and a red swirly background which didn't really say much.

Obviously using Globals existing TV facilities and local end
