Does anyone here listen to Chris Evans' Virgin show regularly? I've tried listening to it and I really can't stand it. People accuse Moyles of not growing up, but at least that means his show can still be funny. Plus the music on Virgin seems to be taken from the most generic best of '80s and '90s compilation/playlist imaginable. Radio X may have a lot of '90s and early '00s rock, but at least there's quite a few new artists in the mix too.

I'm not entirely sure that the Global Academy was set-up as to provide a pool of presenters from West London for their stations. If anything, it'll give them the building blocks to go further in the media industry if they want to, but to all intensive purposes, it's another academy with a media slant.

There is an irony in Global trying to set up young people for a career in radio broadcasting, considering they’ve got rid of most the jobs in radio broadcasting.

It most definitely wasn’t that. The training given to us was the practical and technical skills needed for a career in Broadcast and Digital Media. I can happily say that I graduated last year and I’m in a brilliant position.

I can’t stand it either, mainly as the man doesn’t let the songs play! He constantly talks all over them, crashing the vocals and then talking all over the last 30+ seconds. Anyone else in commercial radio doing this wouldn’t keep a job.
But you can’t help but wonder how Virgin feel a whole station around 1 presenter is worth it. He had a day off on Monday and another presenters simply linked “Best of Chris Evans Interviews” for 3.5 hours.

He also has his own studio which is locked when he is not broadcasting.

I don't know if you're joking or not, but as far as I'm aware Chris uses the new Virgin studio which is large enough for his team to use alongside the other presenters throughout the day.
They did use the now talkRADIO studio which was already built and ready to go, but Evans insisted on a large studio complex which led to talkRADIO staying at Hatfields for longer than expected.

Not joking. Virgin has 2 studios, 1 just for Chris and 1 for the rest of the line up.

RadioX, Virgin, and Absolute all seem to be targeting 90's lads and they're all terrible. Oasis Oasis Oasis Noel Gallagher Oasis Ed Sheeran Oasis Arctic Monkeys Oasis Oasis. As for Evans, I've always thought he's terrible but looking at the numbers he's brought to Virgin you have wonder if the suits at Radio X are secretly pondering whether they forked out for the wrong Chris.

Yep, all that annoys me too. He also has a habit of turning his mic volume up and down rapidly over music which is really hard to listen to (I believe it is known in the trade as ‘fader wanking’!).

Christ, they definitely haven’t! Don’t give them any ideas. Moyles’ show may not be as good as it was on Radio 1 but it’s still miles better than anything else. Even though I'm not a ‘90s lad’ I don’t mind most of the music selection on Radio X, to be honest, but if I listened to it all day the repetition would drive me mad.
Absolute Radio has always seemed like one of those stations that would appeal to me on paper, but in reality the music is a bore.

That sort of thing is the reason why I've never liked Steve Wright either.
