I have to say it... the one coming across worse is you, I'm afraid. It was a silly argument in the first place, and not one entirely well suited to this place. A thread that could be an interesting read about Glastonbury is, instead, a couple of pages of boredom. So let's end it there, chaps.

For me, this year's Glastonbury coverage has been best on the radio - Radio 1's "Magical Mystery Tour" has been a pretty entertaining listen, although I don't think they've made as much as they could out of the live performances.

As far as television goes, it has also been good - especially so with the weather nearly flooding them out. However, I can't help but think previous years have been a touch more impressive with the features and live coverage of all the stages?

I'm not liking 2005 graphics-wise, either.

Seriously, the key to gaining respect and winning arguments is to shut up.

DAS, do you REALLY think after the many years I've been on this site, that I care what the hell anyone thinks?? And frankly, I don't think you should be taking the mantle of self-appointed moderator either.

The multiple feeds over the last couple of nights have been great, but a little more co-ordination would have been better. If you were hopping channels, it was quite easy to see the same song performed a few times, and at 1.50am, just as I was getting fed up of Coldplay, they were being played on BBC 2, 3 and channel 701.

No interactive gubbins tonight, though - 701's a Picture of Britain, and 702's just off air. Is there anything on DSat?

I did notice a few times last night, as the headliners were on, Colin and/or Edith would link to a song live (the one you could hear the strains of in the background), and we'd go to the start of the song. So it's not quite live, but I guess they're using some PVRs so that we don't miss the start of the songs. Not a bad idea, really.

Coverage of the bands has been pretty nifty, and apparently two stages are being filmed in HD (see BBC Resouces' press release). Since BBC OB only has the one HD truck, they've had to rent one in, hence the credit for Outside Broadcast Belgium.

As for not being there and watching it on telly? I'd love to be there. But a combination of finances, geography, and the rather bitter experience last year of spending 8 hours only to not get a ticket put paid to that idea. Maybe in 2007.

Yep, I noticed the trucks with a massive "HD" logo on the side while I was there.

The festival was fantastic, even though I've seen better line-ups there before, there was something special about the atmosphere this year. Probably the combination of torrential rain and blisteringly hot sun, rather than the one or the other that there's been previously.

The coverage I saw when I got back was very good, especially the little tribute piece to John Peel (loved his comment on the 1998 rain "You do realise we're witnessing the end of the world" because that's what it felt like!) but sadly my Sky+ has broken and wiped all my recordngs before I could finish watching everything.

The BBC have covered Glastonbury in HD for a couple of years - certainly last year was also HD. Visions facilities were used - the BBC at that point didn't have an HD OB unit of their own (it only got finally HD refurbed in time for the Proms ISTR)

I suspect that the Belgium credit was for Alfacam - they were the Beeb's preferred HD OB unit provider for quite a while - though I thought Bowtie were also involved. AIUI Bowtie are involved with the Live8 coverage?
