It's a shame John isn't there, but it's still a great festival..especially since if there's someone on I don't particularly like, it's fairly simple to preview and select a different group with the trusty red button.

It's nice to know the kids of today would rather use a red button than stand in a field and actually *see* people on stage.

For the hundreds of thousands of people who can't get to the festival (limited ticket numbers, cost, distance to travel, grotty toilets etc), or who only want to see their favourite band, the invention that is called "television" allows us to do just that - and the "red button" allows people in 2005 to choose which bands they want to see - just as they would if they were at the festival and had to decide which field to stand in to see their chosen artists.
Television allows millions of people choose to watch football, Wimbledon, journeys to the North Pole, Everest, the Moon (yes man on the moon!), in the comfort of their own homes - without actually having to be there!
I'm amazed you have found your way to a computer to write your post - it's nice to know that older people these days would rather write in an internet forum than go out into the street and talk to passers by or write dodgy letters to local newspapers...

Don't be such an idiot. You're taking the arguement to illogical extremes.
Fine, TV is great to see something you can't get to, but the impression I got from the original poster is that he had only ever armchaired Glastonbury - hence my reply.

TV
if he's
has
only armchaired glastonbury.. doesn't it make his posts here more relevant being a
TV
forum....
UB
Perhaps. Still doesn't make it right to watch stuff like Glasto on the TV, though, does it?

Far too much choice really - last night on Freeview FIVE feeds - really confusing I'm afraid - still more is better than none at all.

It's wrong to watch Glastonbury on the TV? I had no idea watching music on the telly was such a clear cut moral issue...

It's wrong to ALWAYS watch it on the TV, and never venture to gigs in your life ever. It's clear to me. Am I speaking Dutch today, or are you lot being either amazingly stupid or amazingly sensitive?
