Still a developing story. Sky News and BBC News obviously in rolling news mode, but nothing on BBC1 or ITV - have they had a newsflash at all? Thought BBC1 might ditch Stepford Wives and go to the news channel early.
Obviously the next few hours will determine whether this is a significant tragedy or a story of lucky escapes, and therefore the news coverage tomorrow. Both the BBC and ITV have scheduling issues with bulletins tomorrow - the BBC only having 10 minutes scheduled for the 6pm bulletin, while ITV's late bulletin isn't due to air until 11.50pm.
STV News had it at 11pm after the late news. Alex Salmond has stated that "Given an incident of this scale we must all prepare ourselves for the likelihood of fatalities".
CNN USA broke into their Primetime to cover it live and getting reports from Glasweigans close to the pub. However there was a report of the band still playing once the helicopter had crashed.
It's very strange though that there was no fireball, from what I've heard from a few friends that are near the area is that it had possibly ran out of fuel and was trying to make a controlled landing
World are showing pre recorded 'Reporters' and are due to air Panorama at the BOTH.
Because it's Saturday morning there is no Newsday, between 2300 and 0200 London time on a Friday into Saturday, you get a weekend service followed by a return to Weeknight schedule at 0200 (depending on daylight savings in the US) for a PBS bulletin.
Radio wise, Real Radio Scotland opted out of network at 0030 with Paul Harper with extended news bulletins and listener accounts. Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 are simulcasting a special show with Romeo, while BBC Radio Scotland didn't really do much, however their resources are being utilised on Up all Night on 5 Live after 0100.
