Got my invite at about midday today after signing up on Sunday.

Just got home and downloaded my first programme on it, Mock The Week. It started slowly downloading and stayed on 0% for the first couple of minutes with within about 15 mins after that it was done. Thats on 2MB broadband and Mock the Week is 30 mins long.

Is there any reason that the BBC 2 ident shown before MTW is a BBC 2 Northern Ireland one? Its nothing to do with where I live as im in the Granada region.

I assume that clicking the Watch Now button next to a downloaded show in your BBC iPlayer Library plays the relevant
channel ident first, before playing the show. The idents are downloaded as seperate files and they're not encumbered
with all that inconvenient DRM gubbins, so they can all be played seperately, and as often as you want . . .

As for the downloaded shows ... assuming that WMP10+ is not set as your default media player (Media Player Classic
is my default for WMV files) drag and drop the randomly numerically titled files directly into WMP10+ from the relevant
folder within Windows Explorer, or doubleclick whichever file you want to watch if WMP is set as default.

It'd be nice if the downloaded shows were properly titled. But since they're all DRM'd to the hilt (even though some of
them really don't need to be DRM'd at all) and self-destruct after X number of days, it doesn't make much difference.

Unless of course you're using something nefarious and illegal to circumvent the Windows Media DRM layer used on
each and every show you download from BBC iPlayer ... not that any of us would ever dream of doing that though!

Well, this is strange ... while BBC THREE has been re-running the first series of "new" Doctor Who, the episodes have
been appearing in the BBC iPlayer download catalog, except for two episodes, "Aliens in London", and "World War III".

Any ideas why this might be? Could there be some unresolved rights issues regarding these two particular episodes,
preventing them from being available to download from BBC iPlayer, or is there a technical fault at the Beeb's end?

I doubt it.

I simply am refusing to touch iPlayer until something is done about it.

Plus how come the BBC appear to be taping off the telly for virgin whilst C4 have a much more lavish setup with special idents and clean credits.
