For Firefox users I'd recommend getting the 'IE Tabs' addon. Once installed you can configure it so that whenever you visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer it'll automatically use IE to render instead of Firefox, thus you can download programmes etc.

Really working slow today....
Have started three downloads
2 Battlefield Britain eps and
Last man Standing
at around 2.15 now at 5pm I have one complete programme (BB), another(LMS) 98% there but the third is only at 21%(BB).
Improvements are really necessary.

For me I registered on Thursday evening (I think) and got my account processed Friday evening.

Thanks so much for that, I've had problems with having to use IE for a couple of sites (the Uni portal in particular which was annoying) but it never occured to me that there could be a plugin for Firefox!

I've been on the Beta for a while now and I sincerely hope that the system isn't collapsing under the weight of the newcomers.
It's nothing short of a slowcoach today. A big shame for those coming to the product new following the fanfare yesterday.
I feel that there's still a hell of a lot of work to be done before this can possibly be considered as a 'full release' product.

I've had a reasonable session today despite it taking ages to download this is the result of almost seven hours online access ...

I would agree with the posters who have said they've prefered the iMP interface to this - as I use Firefox as my default browser, it's a pain having to open up IE to browse the list of programmes. The iPlayer has been alright for me recently though, although the earlier betas were a bit troublesome. I was getting pretty decent download speeds of around 800KB/s today (which is about as much as my connection will give me), programmes downloaded fairly quickly.
