Hi all,

A picture posted in the Eamonn Holmes thread in this forum reminded me about GMTV's Get Up And Give.

I was just wondering if they still do this, because I've not seen or heard any reference to in for a number of years yet.

If they don't do it any more, why not?

Because there was always a dramatic drop in ratings when it was on. It's all about the viewing figures these days!!

And as Eamonn Holmes suggested in his People column yesturday, their figures are currently dropping, for many reasons.

The music for Get up & Give was terrible. It stuck in your head all day long at work.

As for GMTVs ratings, I certainly agree that they are dropping. Everyone I know has now switched to Breakfast in a morning.

Yes, BBC's Breakfast is becoming more popular, but GMTV is still top in the ratings. Although the majority of the nation listen to radio for obvious reasons (driving to work, haven't time to sit down and watch Fiona Phillips.)

How can people turn off a programme which seemed to be an exciting occasion for the company

It was also former Grange Hill, EastEnders and TV presenter Sean Maguire who same the theme song with Today's the Day

Switching over to something else, maybe but not BBC Breakfast, "a boring way to start you day"

At least Breakfast musters up some decent news most of the time, not like GMTV which seems to have less news than many tabloids.

That's because GMTV isn't a news programme. Breakfast is supposed to be.

Although the fact that they won their initial contract on the fact that they were going to be an 'American -style rolling news programme.' shows how much they stuck to it.

Something must be wrong when their 2 main anchors call for their to be more news in it.
