I must say I've never heard of KYTV but from the wikipedia despcription it looks rather fabulous. I'll have to have a look on the torrent sites later.

KYTV was terrific and actually a TV version of the RadioActive series on Radio 4. Both are well worth digging out for their splendid lampooning of late 80s ILR /BBC Local Radio and the emerging Sky tv network. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I'm sure members of this forum will love the mock Sky-style idents used on KYTV.

KYTV was good - but not as sharp as Chris Morris' wonderful spoofs; but worth tracking down, for sure.

They're not really comparable. Radio Active and KYTV were essentially sketch shows linked by a common thread rather than full blown spoofs like Morris's. IIRC the second series of KYTV in particular did seem to mostly drop the TV station spoof concept

Really? I forget. Meth is one hell of a drug.

Here's a clip of KYTV's TellyThon "Brown Nose Day" which brilliantly lampooned the 'glory days' of Television Appeals...

It also stars Geoffery Perkins as 'Mike Flex'.
KYTV TellyThon

Enjoy.

Such a shame that he's dead. I loved him as a performer on KYTV. One of my favourite episodes was Brown Nose Day. You might be interested to know about a tribute evening Radio 4 are planning.

Angus Deayton presents a tribute to the influential comedy producer, writer and performer Geoffrey Perkins, who died recently. Clive Anderson, Michael Portillo, John Lloyd and many others offer their tributes to Perkins, who was instrumental in the success of such radio and TV classics as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Radio Active, Father Ted and The Fast Show.

Thanks for that. My only hope is that Deayton's own ego doesn't dominate the show.
