The comedy producer, Geoffrey Perkins, has died in a road accident in London. Geoffrey Perkins worked for many years for BBC Radio, where he created the game Mornington Crescent in "I'm Sorry haven't a Clue". He later became head of comedy for BBC television, and worked for Hat Trick productions, on shows including Spitting Image and Father Ted.

I also remember him from KYTV years ago.

Former Southampton and England striker Mike Channon nearly copped it on the M1 this week as well.
Seriously bashed up but will survive .
This mortal coil feels a little smaller tonight.

Thanks for the info, Nicky. Greatly appreciated. I am pretty sure Geoffrey will be missed around TVC........................

Why have you posted this in here? It's a forum for discussing coverage of the news, not the news itself. Rolling Eyes

You've failed in anyway to link this story to television news coverage, I fail to see how someone who has been on the forum as long as you NickyS can not know how these forums work.

Do you never make a mistake (apart from joining TVF)?

Ease your head from out of your ar$e, please.

I take him to be a TV figure who has died hence posting him on TV Forum - and yes I thought about posting it in the other forum which I obviously should have done from the reaction - mods feel free to move it.

I must say I've never heard of KYTV but from the wikipedia despcription it looks rather fabulous. I'll have to have a look on the torrent sites later.

Well thanks for posting the very tragic news Nicky. I'm actually amazed I've heard no mention of his death on BBC News broadcasts yet. His contribution to the BBC's comedy output over the last 30 years was magnificent.

Same here. It's not even on the front page of the BBC News site.

Very sad news.

KYTV was terrific and actually a TV version of the RadioActive series on Radio 4. Both are well worth digging out for their splendid lampooning of late 80s ILR /BBC Local Radio and the emerging Sky tv network. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I'm sure members of this forum will love the mock Sky-style idents used on KYTV.
