The building collapse broke @ 10:45am during Sky World News. You must have been watching the Beeb!!!

lol, I wasn't watching the Beeb Smile
But I read on News Active something about 12am and thought that was when the story 'broke'.
Either way, 2 hours is quite a long time, considering it was just down the road!
And dare I say it but the BBC did have live pictures of the building about 5 mins before Sky, the reason being that the BBC were closer to Tottenham than Sky who are stuck out in Middlesex!
That has long been a problem for Sky News, being stuck well out of the way like that.
They really should get a nice skyscraper built for them, in central London Smile
Well... CNN did!

Maybe the centre of Atlanta is cheaper than central London!

Indeed, Fox News in America is using 'unedited' video from Sky News.

With the Sky graphics?
That must be an experience for your average Fox viewer who's used to a graphic filling the entire screen declaring a 'FOX NEWS ALERT'.
Are CNN US getting any pictures of it, or MSNBC for that matter?
I would guess that if Fox are taking Sky's coverage this must be the first time in a very very long time!

SkyNews posted:
The 'brave Sky News crew' as Jonathan Hunt has called them have brought the best LIVE pictures from the Genoa Summit today.

The foolish Sky News Crew.

It's only TV, hardly worth risking your life for.

Try telling that to CNN during the Gulf War, the BBC during World War 2 or Sky during Kosovo.
The fact is they did risk it and it payed off and it normally does.
They were the best network at covering the story. The other crews WERE there, it's not like Sky News were on their own or something, it was just that Sky were the only ones getting any pictures out.

Not the most relevant post, I know, but for anyone who's interested, The CNN Centre (or 'Center'!) is actually an old hotel/shopping complex that CNN bought and converted - must have cost them a fortune!

Did skys crew get injured or have their equipment stolen and placed on a bonfire?

It was also, BEFORE the hotel etc, the HQ of a big gas company.
Or should that be petrol Smile

The old CNN Center was really crappy and small, the current one is excellent.
It's funny actually, CNN is only on one floor of the building, that huge newsroom is just one floor. CNN International is a floor below, or perhaps two floors.
Then there is the CNN Atrium, which is fantastic!
