Miranda has a self-deprecating and disarming personality - so she should do well at encouraging the contestants to participate, and she wont be afraid to make a fool of herself along side them.

There's playing the fool, and then there's falling over unconvincingly every five minutes.

On a more general note I can't help noticing how recently the BBC has been noticeably opting for female presenters for major shows, perhaps in an attempt to combat complaints of the line-up being male dominated. For instance Strictly is now hosted by Tess & Claudia, the new series of Tumble is hosted by Alex Jones, and now the Generation Game will be hosted by Miranda.

That said I personally think Miranda is a good choice for hosting the show.

"@mermhart: Apparently it's 100 per cent cert I am doing Gen Game. First I've heard of it. Mulling some ideas about it might be more accurate."

Life imitating art! It's like an episode of W1A.

Miranda's sitcom is no indication as to how she would be as host of the Gen Game. Her Eric Morecambe documentary was very touching and well thought out, and she obviously has a respect for that era of entertainment.

Well it's either that or Nick Knowles. It's a no brainer really.
