Once again, the 2008-and-later BBC light entertainment studio set gets pulled out that's somehow both dull and garish at the same time, and the logo designer gets paid on an apprenticeship wage. It feels very much like a one-off bank holiday special instead of a serious attempt to revive the format long-term.

It’s trying a bit too hard really. Seems a bit overproduced. Someone naturally funny would make it work better.

It feels like a vehicle for Mel & Sue to continue their trademark innuendo from Bake Off.

Obvious why it was scheduled on Sunday instead of Saturday. Would have tanked and may well do when the overnight ratings are released.

I have to agree it felt really cheap and fake especially with the canned laughter to the point where there was laughter after comments which weren't even funny. I totally zoned out during the sketch at the end - that was a shambles and I agree that the games all felt very old. Lorraine and Richard Osman were there for no reason known to anyone in existence and some of the elements were poorly produced such as the music over the plate spinning 'performance' evidently being added in afterwards.
The logo and title sequence were nothing special and couldn't have been much more generic if they'd tried really. The 5 second appearance of Basil Brush was the highlight for me.
I saw a tweet saying that the revival should have been for Ant & Dec. Surely Push the Button was their attempt at this sort of format?
