Davina really wants to be hosting it herself doesn't she!!
Very much like the use of Love Generation as the theme tune. I think "special one-off" is a little bit of fibbing; see how kind the ratings do and expect it back next autumn!
Like the idea of prizes for the audience on the conveyor belt!

There's something about it I'm not too keen about...
The set screams out late night tacky tv. What happened to the huge stage set they used to have?
The audience was very small too. And I don't think you can really call Johnny Vegas a pottery "expert"
It needs some work (and a new permanent assistant - how about Betty from So.. Graham Norton??) if it's going to be a regular fixture in the schedules again.

Yes, Betty would be better! I liked the changes to the set, with the addition of stage curtains though. I thought Johnny Vegas was great as the "expert" - far more entertaining than a real pottery expert, there must be loads of celebrities with hidden "tallents" they can dredge up to be "experts" !

It's amazing how the BBC can allow a brand as valuable as the Generation Game to be produced as badly as Generation Fame which is currently unfolding to my horror on BBC1.
Graham Norton demonstrates that family entertainment is simply not his forte. Just imagine if this were a live show!
What a parody of a once great programme. If I were the BBC, I'd leave well alone! Unless they're prepared to invest some money in better production values and a presenter of the calibre of Bruce Forsyth, forget it!

If Paul O'Grady didn't have the heart troubles he would do this show so well. My first choice for this gig would have been Julian Clary, he's more suited to mainstream light entertainment than Graham Norton is. And Studio 1 is supposed to be the largest studio at BBC Televsion Centre but it just has no atmosphere unlike Studio 1 at The London Television Studios. When they want a big set it means the audience is made smaller and if they have a big audience the set needs to be made smaller. I think the original Genaration Game was made at the then BBC TV theatre. Then when it was brought back it moved to Television Centre, but probably in Studio 6 or 8.

Generation Fame was okay in parts but I think we'd all rather see the The Generation Game return and not this rather hashed version. I actually think Graham would be much better with real people as contestants and not "Celebs". Oh and if he does host a new series let's hope he actually gets a proper host.

I quite enjoyed it actually!
Paul O'Grady did film a pilot of Generation Game but didn't like it so it ended there. I think Graham did well.
I must admit, I hated the set - it works a hell of a lot better on a bigger stage - and I hated the way the audience knew exactly what was going to happen - did anyone else spot the assistant woman wink to her mate as Graham spoke to her?? Also there was NO reaction from any of the people when their names were announced during the conveyer belt section.
ITV would make this a hell of a lot better than the BBC ever could.

It wasn't bad - but the stage needs to be bigger, there needs to be a proper hostess, the games for each couple need to be separate instead of both teams competing together in the same game instead of one after the other etc etc.
It could come back - but there needs to be certain changes judging by last night's mediocre attempt.
