I agree, the current ones are worse then the celebs. In fact, if they put the celebs back on now I would be happy (dare I say it). I also think the 2004 set was a huge improvement over these, especially when put into proper use (which I think they stopped doing after a few months). I'm hoping they do introduce this new set tomorrow.

A few months.. err nearly a year.. although ITV say they spent millions on those idents.. then thats crap cos they could take 30mins or less to make each one!

Certainly sounds a lot better than the current set. In fact, sounds much like ITV3's idents' fairly subtle incorporation of red.
I presume that the current batch will be totally withdrawn? (It would look daft for some idents to have multiple scenes and no yellow, while others are single scenes with yellow. Then again, ITV are probably stupid enough to be that inconsistent).
I hope they move the logo to one of the bottom corners, to bring it into line with ITVs 2,3, and 4 - but I bet they won't.

Well, a new look for a channel usually generates a little bit of news beforehand, if only in industry publications/media.
If there are to be new ITV1 idents, I would imagine the reason there have been no press releases, etc. is that ITV don't want to make a fuss about ditching a set of idents so soon after they launched. Drawing too much attention to the fact could prove a little embarrassing. I guess they just want to go ahead and do it with minimal fuss.

Surely there must be more than 5 idents? Even when it was the CGI era at least they varied by introducing menus into the idents. Lets hope there are more than 5!

The menu's for that set of idents didn't last for long and it was effectively the same ident every junction after that.
Depends what the idents are like as to whether 5 are enough, they habitually use the same 2 or 3 idents from the current set anyway.
