Just seen promos for
Extinct
and
I'm A Celeb...
Mobile Service, both with black ITV1 logos. The latter did look quite good with the 1 in black as well, and I'm starting to like the black now.
Although neither of these promos use the standard endings (not sure what the correct term is), it looks like the black logo might be used universally soon...

Sorry if this has already been mentioned (I haven't read all pages of this thread) but has anyone noticed that on the new stings while coming back from breaks, there is what sounds like an audio glitch just before the fade.
Usually i'd just ignore it as a technical glitch, but it's been on every sting i've seen since the rebrand... is it just me?

So a week on from the launch of the new idents, and am I the only one that still doesn't 'get' them?
They look fairly nice, are well executed, and certainly an improvement on the previous batch, but I don't really understand what they're supposed to signify, or what the connecting theme is supposed to be. It all just seems a bit random to me.
BBC One has circles, BBC Two has the animated '2', Channel 4 has everyday objects and items forming a '4', ITV1 has... well, just... stuff going on.
I also don't think they're really what ITV1 needs - they all seem a bit too gentle and lifestyley - something that might fit better on Living TV or Five Life. ITV1 needs something a little more brash with a bit of sparkle, not wimpy and almost apologetic.

You're absolutely right
They're bemusingly random

Exactly what I was thinking; better than the previous, but there's no wow-factor and it's actually rather sedate. The current set isn't helped by having the same rather weak soundtrack across all idents.
The next time ITV1 gets an overhaul, it should return to something that's visually and musically more punchy and rousing; something that jumps out at you and grabs your attention.
The music does though seem to reflect the sequences it accompanies, but is a far cry from any wonderfully proud fanfare we may have got in the past.

I agree, but unfortunately we're not likely to see the return of anything like that soon.
The agencies prefer something boring, wrapped up in lots of marketing double-speak and a large bill for afew hundred thousand quid!

ITV1 needs a CGI logo - a bit like the old neon Sky One logo - bold, brash, in-your-face and extremely showing what the channel is all about!!

Not just you , it's like as if there is a connection fault as if someones unplugging a microphone but I am really pleased with the idents as they are bolder and not a load of tree hugging!
