What's the point in ITV changing again? All that will achieve is a further erosion in brand recognition.

Besides, it's unlikely they'd be able to hit on a good idea given their prior track record. ITV are playing a never-ending game of "me too" with their graphics.


well it would be a disaster for ITV to now have a u turn on these rubbish ITV1 idents, but then again they need to do something, these ITV1 idents are worser then the celebrity looking gormlessly at the camera ones!

There are 5 new ITV idents beginning on Monday, not made by Red Bee.

I thought the IACGMOOH idents have already been airing? Would they really make a second set for the start of the series?

the I'm a Celeb themed changes to the idents really haven't worked this year. What with leaves growing over the ITV1 logo against a totally unrelated backdrop of kids rolling down a hill/old man sticking his stomach out etc. it just looks a mess.

The new ones are nothing to do with I'm a Celeb.

I've seen a couple of them, without sound, again they seem to show moods, but each one is a single scene rather than lots of different scenes.

Each ident also emphasizes yellow, the ITV1 colour.

One has a man rowing a boat across an eerie lake. Not much colour until the end of the ident. As the oars hit the water, lots of computer generated yellow fish surround the boat.

Another is set on a beach. Ends with swirling white and yellow striped material filling the screen (think this is a deckchair).

They are definitely better than the current set, but I'm still not keen at first glance.

So are they in addition to the current set, or replacements ? Is the 'emotion' still taking place within the broken up logo ?

Not exactly a vote of confidence in Red Bee if they've been produced in-house.

Is the logo still stupid in the idents - i.e. big and opening up?

Its a different advertising company, not in-house, not heard of them before and the name escapes me. Because of the change of company, I presume they will replace the current set.

From what i recall, the ITV1 logo is on the left of the screen throughout the ident (and is much smaller). I don't think the logo is broken up at all. I'm not 100% on this though, as it was a quick glimpse when I should have been doing something else!

Well that's something, I hope it's smaller too, and less intrusive. Will these new idents replace the currents completely? I do hope so. Smile

Any idea if there will be any other pres changes to ITV1, trails etc? And when did you say they are introduced?
