As of 23rd of September, General Hospital will be replaced by more repeats of Moonlighting.
This is a very bad decision, not only has ANOTHER american soap gone from UK screens but there won't be any new shows on ABC1 every weekday anymore.
They should have atleast given it a chance with it on Sky now, allowing around 7-8 million more potential viewers especially now it will be 24hrs soon.
However, a member of www.gh-uk.com has said that they spoke to a person from Disney on the phone and she said there was a chance of a turn around but they will need more interest (calls), so call them.

If you want to save it then:
1 Dial Disneyline now on 020 8222 2489 leaving your message and contact details or live from 2pm-6pm.
2 Tune into General Hospital weekdays from 0930-1015 on ABC1

Never watched General Hospital, but I wish they would play more of the later series of Home Improvement. Whenever I watch they show ones from the early 90s.

Frankly I couldn't give a toss about it disappearing, if anything this is virtual proof they're changing ABC1 into a comedy channel now, probably to rival Paramount to an extent. Also you must consider that Once and Again seems to have disappeared too.

Anyway the ratings aren't anything to shout about, so why bother showing it and running it at a loss?

Why the hell can't they save other shows? Not just Disney, but any network!

They were showing the final seasons of Home Improvement on weekdays at 12pm up until the beginning of this month but they reached the end and have gone back to season 5 now.

Oh I see. I watch half of the 3.30pm episode which is probably a repeat from the 12pm episode. It used to be at an ideal time for me coming back home at 4pm but Rodney was put in it's place (which by the way is also good).

I can only watch full episodes at weekends now. Sad

Nope the 3:30 episodes are different from the 12pm showings. I only found this out recently!

Well thank f**k for that.

The one and only show I turned off ABC1 for. I know there are fans of American Soaps, and I was all for tuning into five for a good laugh of an afternoon for Sunset Beach, but General Hospital is true tripe. No decent stories. Nothing even remotely interesting.

And where the bloody hell is the hospital?!!?

Good riddance - although it could be replaced with something other than Moonlighting...

Re: Home Improvement - the 3-4pm airings seem to be the early series (featuring Pamela Anderson), which I don't think ABC1 have previously aired as they alway used to begin around season 4 or 5.

Though General Hospital isn't my thing, I do think it's a shame ABC1 is going down the purely comedy route (though there primetime schedule will have some drama!). From what I've seen off Once and Again it is pretty good, while though some of the comedy is superb - others just aren't!

I have to be honest I have never watched ABC 1 that often but the programmes I do enjoy watching on there are: Scrubs, Home Improvement & 8 Simple Rules, the latter I though I would never get into but have

According to DigiGuide, the Home Improvement 12pm showings are currently season 5 whilst the 3pm/3:30pm showings are season 1.
