I thougt the piece put across the dangers of level crossings very well, whilst also retaining the Top Gear entertainment value.

The whole episode was one of their better ones and rather amusing, apart from the celeb lap and interview part which has become tired IMO.

Is this the fourth rail accident this week?

And the 200-oddth road accident. In fact not sure it could be classed as a rail accident at all..... the train wasn't at fault!

There have been loads of idiots on level crossings over the last year or so, what is up with everyone?

Ok I find this really annoying.

They show the programme on Sunday evening (when I was out) with warning etc. and now they go and pull tonight's repeat.. How *exactly* does that help? Particularly as the level crossing thing is a safety campaign instigated by Network Rail.

Very strange decision this. The only explanation I can think of is that there has been a level crossing crash today (as posted above http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6407025.stm) Could that have been a factor in dropping the repeat tonight?

Oh this is ridiculous. They've pulled the show because one person died in a level crossing accident yesterday.

People die in car crashes virtually every day but shows featuring car crashes don't get pulled. Do the relatives of the deceased only feel pain when a train was involved?

In fact, the "Best Of" show they've replaced it with actually features a car hitting a stationary object, if the opening titles are to be believed. How insensitive that they should screen this, given these terrible events of yesterday.

Obviously the Daily Mail complained & so the BBC pulled it

I was looking forward to the programme considering I missed it on Sunday night. Very annoyed about it - no doubt the BBC won't bother rescheduling a repeat.

... well, until next weekend, of course.
Quite handy this on-demand stuff, isn't it?

Actually, it'll be on for a while, in BBC Series Choice. As will Dragon's Den, and Lilies, Waterloo Road and many more [/plug]
