Just out of interest Nick, which radio station do you like? Or don't you like any?

Couldn't possibly answer that here; it would take us off topic!

So your wireless does pick up more than the Home Service and Third?

Laughing Don't worry I was a bit drunk last night, I don't normally ask for threads to be locked

Top Gear has said it still plans to show footage of a train crashing into a car at a level crossing on tonight's show * in the wake of the derailment in Cumbria

That makes it sounds like they're showing it because of the Cumbria incident! Rolling Eyes Laughing Perhaps inserting, say, the words "despite being", where the * is, would have sounded better?

This programme has aired, it's fair game to discuss it. That is the basis for a television discussion forum.

If you haven't viewed it and don't want to be spoilered you shouldn't be in the thread.

It is about tonights edition, no matter that it is or isn't a general Top Gear thread.

I agree 100%. If I am recording an ep of Corrie, I'll stay well away from the Corrie thread until I've watched the latest episode. Surely that's common sense, no? If you hadn't seen Top Gear last night, COMMON SENSE should have told you not to enter this thread until you had....or at least read the posts up to 7-50ish pm. Rolling Eyes

I'm off, it's twenty past Monday so I'm too bloody knackered to get involved.

You know what... this just proves that this place is going to pot... You post something that you think will get a conversation going and then you get 4+ pages of COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC CRAP!

As you know, I've been here since 2002, and I think over the years things have really changed for the worse.

I don't know whether it's due to the moderating teams who never seem to be around when you really need them, or whether it's due to the different members who've joined over the years, but I honestly don't know what's happened to the days of TV Forum when we all just got along and didn't end up with threads veering way off topic!

Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of people slamming other people just for their opinions on things and then going completely off topic resulting in a perfectly normal thread being closed because it ends in people slagging each other off?

For God's sake, if you've got nothing relevant to say then bugger off and say it somewhere else!

And as for you, Work Of Artifice, thank you for pointing out my wording error in the first post, OK, I'll hold up my hands and admit I made one small mistake, but really, was there any need for the sarcastic rolling eyes?

I'm sorry if this post seems OTT, but the way this forum is being dragged down by some people really gets to me sometimes.

Back on topic Wink according to yesterday's Daily (Porn) Star some viewers were "outraged" that the crash was shown so near to the recent rail crashes Rolling Eyes There's always someone ready at rent-a quote isn't there, especially to give the Daily (Porn) Star yet another non-news story

I agree with the Daily Star and feel it's high time somebody took a moral stand. The days running up to the showing of the footage of Hammond's sommersault there were no car crashes anywhere on the British Isles. I find it most distressing and upsetting that an accident on the railways that affects me in no way whatsoever should deliberately and spitefully be made light of in this callous and childish way.

Bravo, Daily Star.

I say it's right to show it.

It's more important than ever to highlight railway safety. If anything, showing it just after a crash will highlight the lessons given in the article!

What happened was terrible, but we shouldn't bury our heads in the sand and not show a relevant piece of information on what is a topical subject given events in the news.
