Wow, as someone who has travelled a fair bit around the world, including Ireland many times (most family live there), not many people have come close to anywhere near Gay’s talent.

RTE One and RTE News Now will air live coverage of Gay Byrne's funeral on Friday 8th November from the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin from 12.00pm.

International audiences can watch it online and I am sure Sky News and BBC News will air some of the coverage too.

Darragh Maloney is probably one of the people who will in the audience for the Gay Byrne Tribute on the Late Late Show tonight.

He is not presenting Liverpool vs KRC Genk on RTÉ2 tonight. Peter Collins is in the the hot seat for presenting that match.

Show was supposed to end 40 minutes ago, and it’s still going! Such a beautiful show tonight, Gay would have absolutely loved it.

Looks like they're trying to match the amount of time Gay was on for his last show.

I’m glad it turned out to be a full length Late Late Show. 90 minutes would have been far too short. It was a lovely poignant ending also to a great tribute to a great man.

I did see a report on BBC Newsline about him but rarely watch UTV Live so don't know if they did anything.
