No-one has noticed that there seems to be 8 gameshows this time around, rather than 7 - although as already stated most of them are actually repaeted from the first series - hoe lazy can the production company get (IIRC isn't it TalkbackThames/Fremantle that produces the show - so for a change I'm not moaning about ITV!!!!)

but um there own the rights to all those game show listed This changes everything!
There don;t own Catchphrase, 321, krypton facter,
BUT there do own Strike it rich & going for gold: so there could have done this one at least!
3,2,1 is too intelligent for todays audience, and Strike it Lucky would be stupidly expensive to re-create for one show! 30 big monitors wasn't it?
I don't see why not. If they don't own 30 identical plasmas I'm sure they could rent some for the evening. Studio space could be a problem though, given they like to squeeze all these gameshows onto a smaller version of the set. I can see them screwing up Blockbusters this way if they don't use the same set dressings etc. Come to think of it how would that work with 1vs2?
"The Price Is Right, Blockbusters, Blankety Blank, The Golden Shot, Name That Tune, Mr and Mrs, Play Your Cards Right, Bullseye
Disappointing to see some choices of gameshow being repeated from GSM series 1.
Although the final couple of seasons of Blankety Blank (the Lily Savage version) were on ITV, it was traditionally a BBC show for most of its many years of existence. As the original GSM was a celebration of
ITV's
history, any gameshow not
traditionally
associated with
ITV
would have looked out of place.
But, as this time round GSM is not celebrating any "ITV"-related anniversary or occasion, then it's presumably more acceptable for
any
British gameshow that ITV happens to have the current rights to, to appear. Having said that, if there are any gameshows whose rights have fallen into ITV's hands too recently for there to have ever been a single bona fide series thereof on ITV before now, then I think any such shows have no business appearing in a series of GSM.
For me personally, Golden Shot was the weakest entry in GSM1. Factors such as the hilarity of "Hyperactive Ruby Wax + Crossbows = Not A Good Idea" or "PJ and Duncan" in-jokes (etc etc), were the only attractions whatsoever of the Golden Shot episode.
But, even those considerations weren't enough to cover the fact that the bare bones of the actual format itself - i.e. basically, shooting a few arrows at a few apples on boards (albeit with pyrotechnics. Big fat hairy deal) - is not a very engaging idea for a gameshow format, IMHO.
Then there was the obvious "digital delay" problems with the having the "viewer-at-home" game
So, I'd rather that anything other than Golden Shot appears in GSM2, even if yet another gameshow repeated from GSM1. I actually thought that Sale Of The Century (I'm a bit too young to remember it from its bona fide Norwich days) was a surprisingly interesting idea/format. More worthy of a 2nd GSM outing than Golden Shot is, IMHO.

I still wished
321:
Catchphrase
Strike it lucky
going for gold ( this could easily be the first episode )
was used:
also there saving a lot of money by using Gameshow Talkback thames alrealdy own like Blockbuster, price is right ( most of the above list there own! )
I do believe play you cards right Could be brought back its a grate show
Strike it Lucky would be stupidly expensive to re-create for one show! 30 big monitors wasn't it?
Surely they could adapt it somehow, to avoid the need for 30 monitors?
E.g. a single large monitor showing a CGI "virtual" version of the traditional bank-of-screens studio, with either
A:
an interactive "touch-screen" quality to the single big screen, or
B:
a small panel in front of contestants, with 30 buttons/switches on, corresponding to the virtual monitors?
(Or something?)
