FX to rebrand

I was hoping that FOX would keep the FX look. It's easy enough to change, and the trailers have been running dual branding for a few weeks now.

No, the current FX look is too tired and lacks energy. Saying that, though, the Portuguese presentation probably goes too far the other way for UK tv.

According to the countdown on the fxuk.com site, the change is at 9pm on Friday 11th.

The trailer that's been airing over the past few weeks now has an end-board with 'First On Fox... Friday 9pm'

Those Portuguese graphics were actually designed in Argentina, for all the international (read, "non-US") FOX channels. So yes, I think those graphics will be used in the UK.

The Sky iOS Apps have updated the channel logo to Fox already.

Love the Fox international graphics.. Much more professional and swish than the current FX branding.

Digital spy have just posted this with glimpses of the new idents - looks like Fox UK will have it's own look!

Looking at those stills, it reminds me of the previous Comedy Central idents. Also, for a channel that shows and will continue to show predominantly American imports, how does a FOX logo over Windermere fit in?

Am flabbergasted that the main 'welcome to Fox' promo was in SD! What on earth were they thinking??

Besides that, presentation wise it looked really nice...

I will say the idents are really well framed and visually appealing - the Brighton seafront and Angel of the North idents are lovely.

I actually liked the moving red blocks on FX. I had hoped they would keep them . . .

Hmm, I do like the new look and the simplicity of it but it is pretty detached from the content of the channel.

That said the transitions to/from breaks and promos looked great with the red blocks and part of me wishes they kept them. The red block idents were a bit too repetitive by the end, esp the swimming pool one, and actually didn't really make any sense at all.
