I have just got this from the weather website:

There are plans to increase the content by March 2002 with additional stories, graphics and animation. 'This is the start of a whole new way of receiving and consuming news, sport and other information and entering into a two-way relationship with the broadcaster,' says Mike Smartt, New Media's editor-in-chief.

The long term aim is to make BBC News Interactive, and its weather outlook, more widely available. Initially it will be rolled out through all BBC digital satellite channels. Next year, it will be accessible through digital cable and eventually via digital text. So there will soon be even more ways to get your weather on demand.

I think you'll find that this is because weather is moving from being under the control of Broadcast & Presentation to News. They're just going to be doing lots more on their website in the coming months, as well as doing more with BBCi on Dsat/ DTT

This might sound stupid but is it possible to get a Real video of BBC News Interactive bulletin? I've never seen it before and would like to see what its like.

Cheers,

Yep its eminently sensible as before if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't know when the bulletin had started and what was the lead story.

However I fail to understand why News Interactive aren't taking either the weekly Talking Points (Sunday's 1400 GMT on world service + online) or these new '6 Forums' which began tonight (that was only shown online). Seems bizarre not to use it when you've got the technology available - would be an excellent way to promote news interactive.

I suspect they don't do the Sunday Talking Points because they're on World Service, while News Interactive is a UK service. As for the forums after the 6, they ran Monday's, so it seems they've got the message.

I wonder what they'll do once Sky launch their new service next year?
